Electrology and Electrolysis

Electrology is the practice of electrical epilation to permanently remove human hair. The actual process of removing the hair is referred to as Electrolysis. (From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.)
The three recognized methods are:
Galvanic
(1875) is a direct current that converts normal body salts and moisture in the hair follicle into a chemical solution capable of destroying the dermal papilla.
Thermolysis (1920s) is a high-frequency current or radio wave. When it comes in contact with normal body fluids in the hair follicle, it generates a low-level heat which cauterized and destroys the dermal papilla.
Blend (1948) is a combination of both currents working together in the follicle. Thermolysis at a very low level enhances the destructive action of the galvanic current.
Application
A fine sterile probe is inserted into the hair follicle and a low-level amount of current is applied, which destroys the hair growth cells.

NOTE: the probe is disposable and is properly discarded after each treatment.
