Frequently Asked Questions

Is Electrolysis the Approved Method for Permanent Hair Removal?
YES!
Electrolysis
is the only form of hair removal that has been classified by both, FDA (Food and Drug Administration) and AMA (American Medical Association) as PERMANENT, evidenced by over 130 years of experience and permanent results. No other treatment method can claim such universal acceptability. It is also the only form of permanent hair removal that has been proven to work on all skin and hair types and colors.
How long will treatments take?
Electrolysis is a permanent hair removal process that requires time. The number of treatments required, and the duration of those treatments, will depend on a number of factors such as heredity, your hair type, the amount of hair that must be removed and its location, skin type, physical condition and prescription drugs taken.

What's the differences between Laser Hair removal and Hair Removal using Electrolysis?
LASER HAIR REMOVAL

Laser hair removal is a procedure which removes hair from the body utilizing a long pulse laser light; hair removal laser have been in use since the early nineties. The FDA has authorized laser manufacturers to state that laser equipment can only temporarily reduce the number of hairs that are being treated, not permanently remove them. The FDA considers that the only method of hair removal that can legally claim to be permanent is electrolysis. It is believed that laser treatment may result in exposing the skin unknown long term risks. Known risks can include hyper-pigmentation and laser induced hair growth. One important factor to consider before choosing laser is the possible skin damage that may result from repeated laser treatments. Laser light radiation cannot discriminate between follicular structure and skin structure; therefore it is possible that coincidental cellular skin damage may result while the hair being preserved!
ELECTROLYSIS HAIR REMOVAL
Electrolysis is a proven method of permanent hair removal that has being available since the late XIX Century. Electrolysis practitioners are experts in the causes of excess hair growth, the effects of the treatment on the skin, and the techniques to successfully remove any size and type of hair on any skin type and color. Electrolysis treats one follicle at a time, thereby minimizing the effects of treatment on surrounding tissues. Most States (as California) require that Electrolysis Practitioners must be licensed which requires extensive education and successful completion of a State Board exam.
